CONTRACT OVERVIEW: The structural stabilisation and restoration of 17th Century bay barn with queen posts and curved braces

SCOPE OF WORKS:

• Removal of corrugated sheet roofing.
• Removal of decayed timber weatherboarding.
• Structural repair of main frame trusses, pulins and post
• Replacement of missing and defective rafters and stud wailing.
• Reintroduction of 12ft barn door opening.
• Rebuilding of collapsed brick plinth.
• Reintroduction of 730m² of thatch involving 30 tonne of Austrian reed.
• Strengthening of 77 joints to main frame.
• Replacement of 8000Lm of new, treated external weatherboarding.
