PROJECT: Perth Avenue Underpass, South Shields

CLIENT: South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council

CONTRACT OVERVIEW: Refurbishment and waterproofing of pedestrian underpass to main dual carriageway

SCOPE OF WORKS:

  • Installation od public safety/access barriers.
  • Removal of existing defective coatings to tunnel linings by wet abrasive blasting.
  • Removal of defective joint fill material.
  • Replacement with Sika 4A and Sikatop 122.
  • Cutting of concrete segments for new light apertures and fitting of new.
  • Application of Sika 1 tanking to tunnel lining.
  • Injection of polyurethane resin around new light fittings.
  • Casting of new arris to rainwater channel.
  • Supply and installation of new steel services casing.
  • Scabbing of floor and application of an anti-slip epoxy coating.
