Resin Injection techniques
have proved to be a valuable ally in the repair and conservation
of stone, wood, concrete and brick over the past decade. Although
they number among the ‘new technologies’ towards which
purist preservationists are often hostile, epoxy resin injection
can be used to achieve spectacular repairs, knitting together fragile
and fractured structures.
In addition to the use of epoxy resins, there are also a number
of flexible polyurethane resins available which are used where a
greater degree of movement is expected in the structure. These resins
are not structural as such, but successfully re-bond crack or joint
interfaces, thus preventing water or gas entry into or out of a
structure.
Quadriga has considerable experience in a variety of resin injection
techniques which are used to re-bond delaminated floor screeds,
cracked renders, timber shakes and cracks in masonry and concrete.
