The provision of non-slip
coatings to corridors, walk-ways and steps has become an important
consideration for building owners, in the light of standards set
out in the Disability and Discrimination Act 1995.
Quadriga is an approved applicator of the K-grip anti-slip safety
system which can be applied to step treads of almost any substrate,
the most common being stone, concrete metal and timber.
The substrate to receive the K-grip must first be cleaned down
to remove any dust and dirt deposits. Most substrates are then keyed
which involves forming a slot along the length of the designated
strip area to help bond the product to the tread.
Strips of tape are then placed along either side of the strip
area before the K-grip is applied using a gun applicator. The product
is then smoothed off to leave a strip which is then left to cure.
K-grip can be applied both internally and externally in a variety
of colours and designs, and is considered one of the most versatile,
durable and flexible products of its kind.
