Fair Elms, Westbourne Road, Lancaster
Fair Elms is a prestigious retirement development close to Cannon Hill
Situated off Westbourne Road, within walking distance to Lancaster City centre, the Fair Elms development is the most sought after retirement development in Lancaster.
Quadriga Contracts carried out essential structural repair works at the above property using Helifix cem ties to 10 locations as identified at the initial tender stage.
During our work it became apparent there were 13 locations requiring restraining works as appose to the original 10 quoted for.
We offered to complete the works to the remaining 3 apex locations.
As identified on site between Luke Baker and Dan Rowson additional Helifix cem tie works were also required to tie the decorative quoin stones back to the external leaf we suggest 5 cem ties to be installed into the corner quoin stones at vertical spacing’s, 10 in total per apex location.
Quadriga worked off a scaffold tower for the majority of these works. All cracked stone work was repointed following the completion of the repair works. The retirement block remained occupied at all times during our program of repairs and therefore careful management of our program and keeping disruption of the residents to a minimum were, of course, important considerations at all times.
