CONTRACT OVERVIEW: The structural stabilisation and restoration of 17th Century bay barn with queen posts and curved braces

SCOPE OF WORKS:

Removal of corrugated sheet roofing.

Removal of decayed timber weatherboarding.

Structural repair of main frame trusses, pulins and post

Replacement of missing and defective rafters and stud wailing.

Reintroduction of 12ft barn door opening.

Rebuilding of collapsed brick plinth.

Reintroduction of 730m2 of thatch involving 30 tonne of Austrian reed.

Strengthening of 77 joints to main frame.

Replacement of 8000Lm of new, treated external weatherboarding.
