Quadriga offers systems of repair
which sympathetically conserve and restore masonry, preventing further
deterioration, either structurally or aesthetically. Materials with
which we commonly work include:
Natural stone
When restoring facades of natural stone it is prefereable to replace
defective sections with new stonework at match existing, ideally
from the original quarry or location.
Reconstituted stone
For heavily ornamental stone or where constraints prevent the use
of natural materials, reconstituted stone made from graded stone
dust, silica sands, cement and bonding agents provides an alternative.
Terracotta & Faience
A highly decorative, fireglazed and kiln dried product requiring
skilled craftmaship to manufacture. Working closely with one of
the only remaining manufacturers in the UK, Quadriga offers specialist
replacement, new build and insitu repair services.
Stucco & Render
Replacement of stucco and render requires the specialist use of
polymer-modified mortars or lime based render systems.
Brickwork
Failed brickwork may either be replaced by indenting new bricks
or restored insitu by similar techniques as those used in stone
restoration.
Marble & Terrazzo
Specialist chemicals are used to degrease and clean marble and terrazzo
to remove the build up of dirt deposits prior to repair and repolishing.
