Contract - General repair to the concrete structure of Westgate House

Scope of Works:

• Due to the rusting of the steel reinforcement in the concrete ring beam brick slips were de-laminating from the building façade. Quadriga removed all brick slips repaired the underlying steel reinforcement and concrete and reinstated the brick slips.

• During previous building maintenance the cavity tray DPC had been cut short and was causing leakages into the main building and contributing to the rusting of the steel reinforcement as above. DPC was laid to the underside of the short existing trays and extended to the face of the building so that water entering the cavity was directed away from the building and down the external outer leaf.

• The existing wall ties linking the inner and outer leaf of the masonry were identified to be ineffective and not linked to both leafs in throughout the entire building. Quadriga inserted dryfix wall ties linking both the inner and outer leaf together to prevent any movement of the outer and inner skins.
