Quadriga were employed to rebuild the gate pier to the Headmaster’s House at Malvern College in Worcestershire using a mix of new and existing stone. It’s vital to match any new stone to the original, for aesthetics, historical accuracy and to ensure longevity.
Work included:
- Supply and install new Wood Kirk detailed stone cap
- Take down what remained of the existing gate pier and set aside salvaged stone for re-use
- Re-build the pier from the existing foundations, using existing stone where possible and replacing damaged stone with new Wood Kirk sandstone, cut and carved the match the original
- Re-hang the timber gate using existing bracketry
