Built in 1932 during the ’30’s depression’, Sunlight House is one of the most iconic buildings in the city and was the first skyscraper in the North of England. The art deco building was designed and developed by Joseph Sunlight, an architect and one of Manchester’s most wealthiest citizens.

Works at both the Quay Street and Atkinson Street elevation included a masonry clean of the Portland Stone, repairs and re-pointing. Repairs and re-decoration were also carried out to restore the timber sash windows. The building was occupied throughout the works.
